that's Rocky Kanaka's puppuccino time song!
Hello, my lovely readers! It's finally Autumn, and you know what that means: pumpkin everything! 🎃🍁🍂 And of course, we can't forget about our furry friends who deserve some pumpkin treats too. That's why today I'm going to show you how to make a pumpkin puppuccino that your dog will love! 😍
This recipe is inspired by the amazing Rocky Kanaka, who donated 100 of these puppuccinos to the reverse rescues shelter in Texas. How awesome is that? 🙌
Now, you might be wondering: what is a pumpkin puppuccino? Well, it's a dog-friendly version of the popular Starbucks drink, but with a twist. Instead of using regular whipped cream, we're going to use puppuccino cream, which is a low-sugar, dairy-free cream that's safe for dogs. And instead of using chocolate sauce, we're going to use carob sauce, which is a yummy alternative that looks and tastes like chocolate but won't harm your pup. And of course, we're going to add some pumpkin puree and some ground kibble for extra flavor and crunch. Sounds delicious, right? 😋
Making this treat is super easy and fun. All you need is:
- Puppuccino cream - This is the secret ingredient in starbucks' pup cups! you can find this at some pet stores or online. Make sure not to use regular whipped cream, as it can be bad for your dog's health.
- Carob sauce - you can also find this at some pet stores or online. Or you can make your own by melting some carob chips in a microwave-safe bowl.
- cinnamon - cinnamon is the magic ingredient in most baked dog treats. It alleviates the senses and increases the dog's appetite because of its delicious smell! Dogs who don't eat enough will love cinnamon treats!
- Pumpkin puree - you can use canned or fresh pumpkin, but make sure it's pure pumpkin and not pumpkin pie filling, which has spices that are not good for dogs.
- Ground kibble - you can use any kind of dry dog food and grind it in a blender or food processor.
To make the puppuccino, just follow these simple steps:
- Fill a cup, glass, or bowl with puppuccino cream about 3/4 of the way up.
- Add a spoonful of pumpkin puree and stir well with a stick.
- Top it off with more puppuccino cream and make a nice swirl on top.
- Drizzle some carob sauce over the cream and sprinkle some ground kibble on top.
- Voila! You have a pumpkin puppuccino that's ready to serve to your pup! 🐶
However, the fun doesn't stop there! Here are some creative combinations of dog-friendly toppings to add on a pumpkin puppuccino:
- Carob sauce, pumpkin powder, and kibble sprinkles: a classic combo that your pup will love!
- Carob sauce and peanut butter: a rich and nutty treat that will make your dog go nuts!
- pumpkin powder and banana slices: a fruity and sweet option that will satisfy your dog's sweet tooth!
- Mint carob sauce and shredded coconut: a tropical and refreshing twist that will cool your dog down on a hot day!
- Carob sauce, pumpkin powder, and bacon bits: a savory and crunchy addition that will add some protein and flavor to your dog's drink!
I hope you and your dog enjoy this treat as much as I do. It's the perfect way to celebrate the Fall season and show your dog some love.
